Living Waters Spanish offers a Christ centered curriculum that includes Bible study, discussion about what God is doing in our lives, scripture memorization, praise, prayer and an optional Mexico mission trip.
We also offer a controlled immersion approach, we spend most of our time in Spanish during the class and in the homework, but we do this in a way that does not leave the student behind or lost.
Immersion is effective at teaching Spanish well and quickly. When we take students to Mexico in March or June we are thrilled to see how much Spanish they understand and can speak.
Living Waters Spanish classes are dynamic, personable and interesting. Many other online classes are poor in quality and students learn little from them.
Join us on our optional mission trips to orphanages in Mexico and South America. These trips are life-changing for nearly everyone and all grow in important ways.
Students are mentored along the way, not just in how to speak Spanish, but in biblical principles for life. Señor Riegg encourages students to see what the Bible says for themselves, and to listen for God’s voice illuminating the meaning of the text.
Bible Based and God Centered
Teaching Spanish can present problems for homeschoolers: How does a mom teach something she, herself, does not know well? At Living Waters Spanish we teach how to master a language, instead of just learning a few basic words and phrases.
We keep Christ at the center of learning, when nearly all other curricula keeps God out, or barely touch on biblical truths.
“Señor Riegg has made learning a foreign language approachable and fun! I appreciated how the assignments were designed to keep my child actively listening to and speaking Spanish on a daily basis. The highlight of this class has been seeing my child gain confidence in speaking to other native Spanish speakers. Señor Riegg has also done a wonderful job bringing Christ into his class as the motivation for his students to be able speak Spanish for God's glory.” - Kristine J.
“You taught us that knowledge is invaluable and a way to know God, glorify God, spread Jesus, and love people. And while mastering Spanish always remained the goal, you also taught us that that's not the most important thing and that our identity/worth is not found in our grades, failures, or accomplishments. You cared deeply for each student in your class and you took the time to get to know, serve, and love each person. You set the example of stewardship and using our talents for Jesus by taking us to Mexico each year.” – Moriah
“Thank you so much for teaching this class. I’ve felt special and valued, and that’s always nice to feel. I’ve loved the laughs we’ve shared, and I’m so grateful for just how silly you are. Any class is less fun if the teacher is some stoic dude who has no emotions. So, again, thanks for all you do for us." -Roger
“My husband and I have been VERY impressed with the quality of this class. You (and your wife) are doing an absolutely incredible job. The level of instruction is exceptional, and the heart behind what you do is beautiful.” – Mary

Why bother learning a foreign language? One of the main reasons for learning Spanish is to see people's lives changed for all eternity. Knowing Spanish enables us to communicate much better with Spanish speakers than if we didn’t know the language. Learning a foreign language also stimulates the brain, broadens and deepens perspectives, and develops patience, perseverance and good study skills. Learn more here.
How does knowing a foreign language help people’s lives be changed for all eternity?
By our sharing how Jesus paid for sins and gave us eternal life, others can also receive that eternal life. Our prayer and hope is that many with whom we share this news will receive forgiveness and everlasting life, and that we will one day rejoice with them in Heaven. “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” Romans 10:14 Read our Statement of Faith.

The Big Idea of Languages
Yes, YOU CAN learn Spanish, and even become fluent in it.
Some students say they just "cannot learn foreign languages;" they are not "wired" for it. This is false, though. If you had been born in Mexico, speaking only Spanish growing up, how good would your Spanish be now? Obviously, you would be fluent. Just like you could master English, you can also master Spanish.
Time in the language is what's required. That's it.
A few tricks can also shorten the time it takes to become fluent, such as using new words in novel ways, and recycling old words. It also helps to engage in topics that interest you, personally.
We do all this in Living Waters Spanish.
