Spanish Standardized Tests
There are three main Spanish tests used by college admissions officers:
It is recommended that students prep for the specific test they intend to take for a few months, as each test is unique and very different from the others.
- CLEP - Gives college credit to non-Ivy League type schools. Fluency-oriented rather than grammar-oriented. Many Living Waters Spanish students have taken the CLEP, and to our knowledge everyone has passed. Three years of Living Waters Spanish is recommended before taking the CLEP.
- AP - Gives college credit to all colleges. Fluency-oriented rather than grammar-oriented. Some Living Waters Spanish students have taken the AP, getting scores from 2 to 5, out of 5 possible. Four years of Living Waters Spanish is recommended before taking the AP Exam.
