Is Spanish 3 really taught 100% in Spanish?
Yes! From the very first day, your teacher speaks Spanish throughout the entire 90-minute class. By Spanish 3, you're comfortable with full immersion. Absolutely! We welcome students ages 12 to adult. Spanish 3 is perfect for adults preparing for long-term missions, ministry leadership, or professional Spanish use. Many adult students are missionaries, pastors, or ministry workers. Age doesn't matter - if you want to serve God in Spanish, you belong here.
What is ACTFL and why does it matter?
ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) provides standardized proficiency guidelines used by schools, colleges, and employers nationwide. Spanish 3 targets "Intermediate" level, meaning you can participate in conversations on unfamiliar topics, handle complex situations, and express opinions and explanations. This is the level needed for ministry leadership and professional use!
How much homework is there really?
Expect 3 hours per week structured across multiple days. Here's the breakdown: - Education Perfect exercises: 30-45 minutes - Extended native speaker conversation: 20-30 minutes - Bible study and theological reading: 45-60 minutes - Essay writing and reflections: 30-45 minutes - Advanced Scripture memorization: ongoing (10-15 min daily) It's challenging but manageable for serious students committed to fluency.

By Spanish 3, your conversations are deep and extended (20-30 minutes). You'll discuss theology, current events, personal testimonies, and complex topics. This could be with someone at church, a missionary contact, an online tutor, or connections we help you find. These conversations prepare you for real ministry leadership!
Will Spanish 3 prepare me for long-term missions?
Absolutely! Spanish 3 graduates have the fluency to live, minister, and lead in Spanish-speaking countries. You can preach, teach, disciple, counsel, and handle daily life entirely in Spanish. Many of our students go on to serve long-term with organizations like YWAM, mission boards, and church plants. You're ready!
Can I earn college credit after Spanish 3?
